Crippling the Nervous System

Defensive Physiology:
In a nutshell, we live through our nervous system, and we know that the nervous system is connected to our immune, emotional and endocrine systems.

Our modern lifestyle promotes living in a chronic condition of stress and subjects us to an increasing array of environmental toxins. These two conditions are cited as primary causes for autonomic nervous system imbalance and resulting hormonal disturbances.

That is why, and how, this (mostly unconscious) chronic state of defensive living in our "fear-based" society, creates so much "dis-ease" (bringing on all the compensatory addictions, destructive dependencies, neurosis, gut issues, etc).

This "Walk Talk Dance Sing" clip features Dr. Jay Lepp...a brilliant wellness practitioner who clearly walks his talk, and made me recognize my deeply ingrained "identification with suffering," allowing me to make the shift to wellness thinking instead of illness thinking (which the medical system was strengthening in me). His guidance has switched my focus to "what works" instead of "what doesn't work," and of tremendous significance: "finding safety within."

As per the film, here I physicalize the concepts to show/feel more clearly what is happening while living in this dis-eased state---how the body mind and spirit become suppressed and depressed, and lack integration/wholeness. Imagine this dance happening on a cellular level.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
